Spirit are a Creative Graphic Design Agency, based on the borders of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire in the UK, serving Tring, Berkhamsted, Watford, Leighton Buzzard, Aylesbury, and beyond. We were formed by Rachel Scanlon, a Graphic Designer with over 15 years experience in the Printing, Design and IT industries.

Rachel started her career working for a local printing company as a studio artworker. During this time she learned the traditional ways of typesetting and design from an experienced professional, then learned how to apply this to the computer as this became the more popular way of creating and outputting artwork for printing.

Part of being a successful studio artworker is looking after the tools you need to do the job. Rachel quickly learned skills to fix problems that came along whilst working on the computer, and hence acquired an interest in computer support also. Around the time of the ‘Millennium Bug’, she decided to re-train and start a new career as an IT Support Professional.

What followed was 4 successful years in the IT Industry, learning about computers, large scale computer networks, the Internet and project management. She gained Microsoft qualifications and people skills along the way; one of her last projects was successfully managing an IT audit with a network of 30 engineers nationwide.

However there is no place like home, and inevitably, being a creative person, design began calling again. Rachel decided after a while that she missed the design industry, and the buzz associated with creating ideas and concepts for clients. So she left her IT career and started her own company, Spirit Web Design Ltd, initially to merge her design and IT skills to offer Web Design to prospective clients.

Working with various clients since forming the business has helped us to refine the services we offer, by learning what they need and expect, and applying our skills accordingly. So in 2007 we changed our name to Spirit Creative Ltd, to better reflect the service base we cover.
